This example of etched glass work is the most detailed I have attempted. It was made in Paint Shop Pro 5 with Eye Candy to make the class effect.

It is only possible to capture enough detail to make the picture visible if the etching is made in a very large size. It can then be resized to a smaller size and resharpened, and the detail will be retained. It the pattern is resized first, the delicate lines will run into each other and the result be large blobs of dark and light areas.
The pattern for this picture was taken from a series of New Testament scenes in the Dover Woodcuts contained in the Imsi Masterclips 303000 collection
