TWO VUE D'ESPRIT 4 IMAGES
My impression of the Vigil kept in churches on Maundy Thursday to commemorate Christ's Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane and arrest. The chapel where the Watch is kept is filled with spring flowers, to represent the garden, and candles to represent the torches carried by those who came to arrest Him. The candles provide the only light. The exposed Host, the consecrated Communion wafer which is the Body of Christ, in the monstrance is the Presence of Christ. The thurible, in which the incense is burnt, is on the floor before the altar, mingling the scent of the incense with the scent of spring flowers.
Gazebo and figures are Poser models used in Vue d'Esprit.
